Funeral arrangements announced for Titus Co. constable killed Thursday
Mt. Pleasant, Texas (KMSS) — Titus County is mourning the loss of one of its constables after a tragic accident.
Precinct 2 Constable Cleveland "Cleve" Johnson, 57, was killed in a vehicle accident Thursday morning. Johnson was driving home when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a culvert. Johnson was pronounced dead around 10 a.m..
Johnson became a constable in 1997. Before that, he served with the Mount Pleasant Police Department, Titus County Sheriff’s Office and Titus County Constable’s Office. His career in law enforcement started more than 34 years ago.
Visitation for Johnson will be held at Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant on Saturday between 6 p.m.- 8 p.m.
His funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the North Ridge Church of Christ in Mount Pleasant.
