Today a student made a report that an unidentified man was in the school building. The building was locked down immediately. In our investigation, we did not find any unauthorized people in the building. This was also confirmed on our video surveillance cameras. We are confident that no intruder was in the building. Due to the report and as a safety precaution, campus administration made the decision to lock down the building and call the police. The lock down procedure went extremely well and everyone is safe. Our kids and teachers did a great job. We are continuing to work with Upshur County Sheriff’s Office and Gilmer Police Department in this investigation. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. It is our goal to make sure you are confident in our safety procedures.
