A Gilmer man is sentenced to 9 years in prison for dealing drugs in East Texas.

Charles David McWhorter, 38, pleaded guilty on Nov. 28, 2011, to possession of pseudoephedrine with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to court documents, on July 31, 2009, McWhorter purchased cold pills containing pseudoephedrine at the Drug Emporium store in Longview. On that same day, he made three additional purchases at other stores in the area, all to help make meth.

McWhorter was indicted by a federal grand jury on Apr. 6, 2011.
