Newt Gingrich has officially suspended his presidential campaign.
The former Speaker of The House made the long expected move at a Wednesday afternoon press conference.
Gingrich quickly threw his support behind Mitt Romney, answering a reporter who asked if Romney is "conservative enough".
"Compared to Barack Obama? You know, this is not a choice between Mitt Romney and Ronald
Reagan. This is a choice between Mitt Romney and the most radical leftist President in American history," Gingrich said.
The former House Speaker topped the Republican field in December polls, but he won just two primaries.
