GLADEWATER — On Wednesday, participant James Clay said he was thankful for good friends, food and a church that gave back to its community.

First United Methodist Church of Gladewater held a community-wide Thanksgiving lunch, free for anyone to attend. The church estimated at least 400 people would be in attendance during its serving times, church volunteer Tim Holland said.
