Gladewater ISD mulls first bond election in 30 years

Gladewater — Gladewater ISD is considering doing something it hasn’t done in 30 years — hold a bond election.
Gladewater Superintendent J.P. Richardson said Monday the Texas Association of School Boards will do a facility study the first week in April.
“They’ll basically come in, look at all of our facilities and do a needs assessment,” Richardson said. “That will help to get the ball rolling for what our needs are in the district facility-wise.”
The preliminary arrangements are being made so the district’s school board and community can decide whether Gladewater ISD’s needs warrant a May 2014 bond election, he said.
