The congressman from East Texas said Monday in Longview that Obamacare has elements worth reviving — once it’s repealed by Congress.

U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Tyler, said some elements of Obamacare, such as letting children stay on their parents’ plan until age 26, are worth saving. He is not in the camp of those who say, mend-it-don’t-end-it, when it comes to the act.

“I’m not,” he said. “It is doing so much damage to health care. There are things we can agree to that are part of Obamacare. We’ve got to repeal the whole thing, put back in place things we think are good and set up the things I’m talking about where there’s competition.”

That included measures requiring medical providers to disclose online what they charge and making health insurance a requirement for visa applications.

Repealing Obamacare may not be the best solution now as there are 8 million people who already signed up and many have already paid their premiums. It would mess up the whole health care system more. For those individuals who hope differently should take time and watch this video in youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yo2TB26SLQ This video is all about strategies in dealing with Obamacare and to stop all worries about it.

I have medical insurance for the first time in 15 years and it is not totally free but I can afford it., I now can live a few more years until someone like this takes it away from me and my family. The 8 million people who have insurance now can do without according to so many wealthy people in office like this guy. I was a republican for all my life but not sure if I am voting against the average american. NOt to say all three parties have fleas in many cases

He makes himself look dumber by the minute. ACA has been in effect for over 5 years! TMF, ETMC, Spinal Hospital & other ETEX hospitals & clinics got $Millions for electronic medical records decreasing errors. Medical employment hiring is UP! UT Tyler will have a School of Pharmacy. TJC is building a state-of-the- art nursing school.
Gomer ignores the facts. ACA was started under Bush/Romney & ACA took the best of that.
ACA is proven to work!
Gomer give up your top notch healthcare plan first!

Though a Christian, I am fully capable of thinking colorful and pointedly descriptive words for this little man. Yep, gomer..tell the 8 million plus who now have insurance through the Affordable Healthcare Act that it is being yanked out from under them...this is what gomer and other radical right-of-right un-Americans would prefer. The fact is, gomer, that your Christianity is hollow, that the Christian mandate to care for our brothers and sisters is, in fact, not part of YOUR false "religion".
