Gohmert urges East Texans to make 'House Call'
WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is urging East Texans to join him in our nation's capital and make an Emergency 'House Call' on Washington this week before Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to rush a vote through Congress on her 2,000 page healthcare bill.
East Texans are invited and encouraged to participate in the open event on the East steps of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC this coming Thursday, November 5th, at 12 noon. Rep. Gohmert, fellow Members of Congress, and members of the public will join there to oppose Speaker Pelosi's plan for a government takeover of healthcare.
Event: Emergency 'House Call' on Washington
When: Thursday, November 5, 2009 @ Noon
Where: East steps of the U.S. Capitol Building, Washington, DC
Who: All those who reject a government takeover of health care
Rep. Gohmert stated, "Despite months of tea parties, town halls, and honest feedback from all over the country, Speaker Pelosi and the Majority Leadership have not gotten the message that Americans overwhelmingly reject their plan for a government takeover of healthcare. I hope East Texans and those from across the nation will join me in our Emergency 'House Call' at the steps of the Speaker's door and make their voices heard. This issue is of the utmost importance. We need as many voices as possible to demand that she once and for all drop this disastrous plan for takeover so that we can work in a bipartisan effort on real solutions that will include some of the solutions my colleagues and I have offered to give all Americans access to affordable, quality healthcare."
Although Speaker Pelosi and the Majority restricted the public from attending their healthcare plan's 'public' unveiling on the steps of the U.S. Capitol last week, Rep. Gohmert and fellow Members are inviting and encouraging members of the public to attend Thursday's Emergency 'House Call.'

Yes, let's just all dash up to Washington. Gohmert must think we all make the same kind of $$ and have the same kind of time that professional government workers do. Thank goodness he's here to 'suggest' what we should do (that apparently he can't - so why is he earning all that money?)

2 weeks agoHats off to our own Louie Gohmert for standing with Michelle Bachmann on this unique & critical "house call". We also appreciate the delivery of the monsterous healthcare bill to local libraries for display.

2 weeks agoHey Marty:
Guess you don't remember that it has been the democRATS that have always blocked "reform" in that you can't buy insurance out-of-state; wonder why they did that??
And they admitted openly they don't want to do tort reform because it would hurt their major money donors even though it would drastically lower healthcare costs....huh, how about that Marty?
Slow down on that kool-aid Marty cause once this health-CONTROL goes through; a lot of the things you thought you could do, you won't be able to do any more. Do you think Jim Jone's kool-aid drinkers realized what had happened to them before they died? You are getting ready to experience that same dose of reality courtesy of our bat-eared communist!!

2 weeks agoI do remember blocking buying insurance out of state which you ask about. The insurance companys would be the ones that would benefit from that.. They would all home base in the few states where there is little or no regulations and gee-wizz what kind of reform would that be.
The story about tort reform is just that... a story. Its not lowered health care costs here in Texas one bit since a limit was put into affect a few years ago. So you need to take all that kool-aid talk somewhere down the road. Its like I said before.. people like you just want to bash anyone from a different party but at the same time not come up with any ideas that would really help the people in this country.

2 weeks agoI love how Mr Gohmert talks about "honest feedback". Mr Gohmert and his party had years to fix healthcare when they were in power and flat out didn't do it. Hows that for "honest" ? He also talks about the solutions he and his colleagues are offering and pretty much all they offer is tort reform and not interfering with what the privite insurance companys want to happen (which is nothing). They sure don't want that money train to stop do they ? Things are working just fine for the big insurance companys... how about making some changes and making things start to work out for the rest of us also.
Most of us in this country want healthcare reform, REAL reform and just not the crybaby (we'er not in power anymore so we'er not going to agree to anything the other guys want)"solutions" Mr Gohmert talks about.

2 weeks agoBless you Mr. Gohmert. You are a good man among thieves. I can't believe anyone voted for Nancy Pelosi in the first place. When is her term up?
