8 p.m. @ the Music City Texas Theater - Stoney LaRue in concert - Linden

Stoney LaRue, will once again take the stage at Music City Texas Theater in Linden. April 18. LaRue played to enthusiastic sold-out MCT crowds at in 2012 and 2013.

"Red Dirt" artists such as LaRue have carved out a Regional style of music with a sense of independence that is fast becoming mainstream. "It is natural, and honest, and about real life" Says LaRue.

LaRue's 2011 "Velvet" won both the 2013 Texas Regional Radio Award Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year awards, and climbed to #5 on Billboard Magazine's Independent Label chart. His singles "Travelin' Kind," "Look At Me Fly" and "Velvet" hit spent multiple weeks at #1 on the Texas Music Charts.

Reserved Seating Tickets are $20 and are available by calling 903-756-9934 and at the door. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the Show begins at 8:00 PM. 



10 a.m. @ the Historic Anderson County Jail - Alice in Wonderland Theatrical Tour - Palestine

The fun begins with The Mad Hatter as he invites guests into his tea party. Soon, the White Rabbit appears in a frenzy, followed by Alice who guides the tour through the rabbit hole and into Wonderland. Along with a colorful cast including The Blue Caterpillar, The Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and of course, The Queen of Hearts, Alice must make her way through to find the elusive White Rabbit.

“It's a really unique opportunity because you are submersed into a wonderland with all of these beloved characters. Experiencing a literary work in an historic Texas jail, that has been converted for the tour, is very rare,” Janz said. “There are still some elements of the jail showing. It's a mix — a fusion of arts and the remnants of history. You can't find too many places like this!"

Tour hours are Fridays 6pm-9pm, and Saturdays 10am-6pm every weekend in April. Admission price is $5 per person. The Old Anderson County Jail is located at 704 Avenue A Palestine, Texas (across from the Anderson County Courthouse). To contact Wonderland call: (903) 373-8158.
