Friday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., the City of Tyler’s Liberty Hall will present Stevie Jo Rosenbalm in concert. Rosenbalm is on a break from his tour on the hit show, "The Voice" and has agreed to put on a concert before a hometown crowd.

“We are so excited to be able to bring this sneak peek to Tyler and Liberty Hall” said Amy Fish, Jaguar Artist Promotions.

Rosenbalm is a Tyler native through and through. Born right here at Trinity Mother Frances and raised in Tyler, Stevie's parents both played in heavy metal bands when he was younger and he always dreamt of making it big in music. His parents may have influenced his love for music, but not the genre: Stevie loves to sing R&B.

Music has always been a source of inspiration for him, and he's on "The Voice" to make that dream a reality. Stevie took the bold step of trying out for "The Voice" in Austin.

He said, "I was nervous that day, too. I got a callback. Then I got another callback. There are some hoops you’ve really got to jump through. But I got there and I just couldn’t be more happy with the results.”

He got his start in music by playing drums and singing in garage rock bands.

“Drums are my first love,” said Rosenbalm. “I just love rhythm and the drums and all the things you can do with it. That’s what called me to R&B, because when I was singing and playing drums, R&B vocals are packed full of those rhythmic aspects that really intrigue me.”

Competition will remain fierce as the show advances, but Rosenbalm said he’s been blown away by the support and reactions he’s received so far, both from home and abroad.

“I’ve been getting so much love and support from social media. And not just social media, when I’m out in town, I’ve had people already asking me for autographs and to take pictures. My friends are like, ‘You really deserve this.’ It’s so awesome to get the support of the community. It makes me feel like I’m going in the right direction.”

To show your support for Stevie Jo while he is on “The Voice” you can download his songs on iTunes at The Voice – Stevie Jo, subscribe to his YouTube channel or follow him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at @thesteviejo.

Opening for Stevie Jo will be local performer Levi Kitchens, with Taylor Heard leading a question and answer session with Stevie Jo after the concert and a meet and greet after that. Tickets are available online for $15 at www.LibertyTyler.com or at the door one hour prior to the show for $20.
