Henderson, Texas (KETK) — Lt. David Marshall with the Rusk County Sheriff's Office is reported to be in good condition following a lung transplant in Dallas Sunday night, said Sergeant David Roberts.
Roberts told KETK Marshall is "resting and doing OK today!" He also wants to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words.
The Rusk County Sheriff's Office wants to remind the public they can help support the lieutenant by attending a fundraiser on May 23 in the Bobby’s food center parking lot on Hwy. 79 in Henderson, or you can donate money at Henderson Federal Bank in Henderson. The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hamburger plates will be sold for $5.
The Marshall family will stay in Dallas either at the hospital or close to the hospital for at least 90 days. The fund raiser will help them offset the cost of living.
Lt. Marshall has been a part of law enforcement for over 30 years.
