Tyler native to 'battle' tonight on NBC's 'The Voice'
tyler (KETK) — East Texan Stevie Jo Rosenbalm will take to the airwaves on KETK again Monday night! He will compete in the "battle rounds" on NBC's "The Voice."
Coaches have enlisted the help of top recording artists to share their insights as advisers to contestants. Adam Levine teams up with Aloe Blacc, Blake Shelton with The Band Perry, Shakira with Miranda Lambert and Usher, Stevie Jo's coach, with Jill Scott.
During this phase of the competition, coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest, and has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach. Each coach has two steals during the battle rounds.
The Chapel Hill native is humbled to be working with such famed singers.
"To work with Usher and to be on his team it's such an honor because he's such a great influence on myself as an R&B singer, and I just know that he can improve me so much, and that's why I joined this competition...was to improve as an artist and vocalist. And I feel like Usher sure can definitely do that for me."
Stevie Jo made the second round by impressing Usher enough to be selected to his team after singing "There Goes My Baby," a hit single by Usher.
Tune in tonight at 7 on KETK to watch Stevie Jo's performance.
