The Caldwell Zoo in Tyler needs your help naming these precious little cubs! The three baby lions are all females, so you can toss out "Simba" Disney fans.

The zoo's male cub has already been annointed Doc, in honor of the late Dr. Steve Wilson, their long-time veterinarian.

Choose from the list of names below by email at info@caldwellzoo.org, reply on their Facebook page or stop by the Visitor Services at the zoo's front entry to submit your choices.

  • Imara (eh-mar-ah) - meaning strong one
  • Malika (ma-lee-ka) - meaning angel
  • Zuri - meaning beautiful
  • Adanna (ah-dan-nah) - meaning father’s daughter
  • Makena (ma-kee-nah) - meaning happy one
  • Zola - meaning quiet, tranquil
  • Aziza (ah-zee-zah) - meaning darling, respected
  • Damisi (dah-mee-see) - meaning happy
  • Amira (ah-mir-ah) - meaning princess
  • Azima (ah-zee-mah) - meaning mighty
  • Mboga (em-boga) - meaning groceries

Your vote must be submitted by March 20 for the announcement on March 24th.
