Good Shepherd Medical Center honors auxiliary members
Longview — Frances Morris says when her husband died during her emergency appendectomy, she was “surrounded by angels.”
“Two ladies took me into a room to pray with me, and that’s why I am still here,” said the Good Shepherd Auxiliary president, talking about her 15 years volunteering at the hospital.
Morris was one of numerous volunteers honored Wednesday at the annual Auxiliary Appreciation Luncheon at Pinecrest Country Club.
About 50 service awards were presented.
Auxiliary members contribute about $900,000 in labor every year through 45,000 hours of service.
