Governor Faces Criticism over Commission Appointments
October 11, 2009 - 8:00pm
AUSTIN - Governor Rick Perry removed a fourth member of a state commission in charge of investigating claims that an innocent man may have been executed.
The governor also named replacements for two other empty spots on the commission.
The Governor has now replaced all four members of the commission that he's allowed to appoint.
The shakeup comes as the investigation into the execution reportedly reached a crucial point.
Governor Perry denies accusations that these commission changes are politically motivated.

Me thinks it's time to remove the governor.
I voted for him every time, but am getting more and more disenchanted with him. He's becoming too much like a dictator as are most politicians. Time to clean house in Austin and in Washington.

1 month agoGetting a little cranky are we, Ricky? One shouldn't wonder, after all you were the bloaks last resort. What makes you so worried? Surely, you were totally focused on the fellow's life at the time and had reviewed all the transcripts and appeals to make certain your decision was justified.
Well, no worries then. Just tell us why you keep shuffling the panel. There's a good lad.

1 month agoWell said Mr. Teague! I can think of a few reasons why he might be cranky. I'll start with the upcoming election. Hmmmm, I wonder if that has something to do with this.
CNN reported that the original arson investigator didn't rely on proven, standard investigative techniques when determining arson; they mentioned psychics and what-not. Doesn't sound compelling enough to me. I wonder if maybe the good governor forgot that the rights of one should outway the rights of the many more times than not.
