Governor Perry Defends Death of TTC
October 28, 2009 - 10:24am
Hutchison's spokesmen said Tuesday that the governor continues to avoid critical questions about the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC).
During a news conference, Gov. Perry was asked if Proposition 11 would prevent future TTC projects from taking private land.
"The Trans-Texas Corridor is a dead subject both through the legislature and the Department of Transportation," said Gov. Perry.
Spokesmen for Gov. Perry's campaign contend that the governor supports eminent domain for certain public uses, such as highways and water lines. However, he does not support eminent domain when a local government uses it to build condos or to simply increase revenue.
