UPDATE: The fire has been contained.

Officials on scene tell KETK that the guide wire on a pole snapped.

A trucker who was hauling oil field equipment hit the sagging line.

The impact tripped the breaker which caused sparks to ignite.

 

 


Smith County officials tell KETK that downed power lines have started a grass fire on Highway 155.

The power lines were laying across the highway when they were run over by trucks and sparks were ignited.

Noonday Fire Department is responding.

At this time, no structures are in danger.
