TYLER - The Grassroots organization is saying vote no on a T.I.S.D. bond election. This without more explanation on why the money is needed but, the T.I.S.D. board of trustee's say the $145 million bond package after principal and interest is crucial.
The Vote Yes Committee and the T.I.S.D. school board are working to pass bill that would fund new schools in Tyler but, the grassroots organization says they still have many unanswered questions.
The hefty price tag, and unanswered questions left the Grassroots organization in Tyler scratching their heads over the millions in bond money T.I.S.D. is asking for. The group sent an invitation to the T.I.S.D. board of trustee's for 2 town hall style meetings. While T.I.S.D. says by law they can only have informational conferences. One T.I.S.D. board trustee member says he can't understand why some people can't get behind the bond election.
The board of trustee's says that all of the remaining informational conferences are open to the public since they are held in public schools.
