Longview, TX — Gregg County Commissioner Darryl Primo presented a case for covering the Longview Rodeo arena during the most recent Commissioner's Court meeting.

"If you remove the weather as a factor from the various events you expand its (the rodeo arena) use for all residents," Primo said during Monday's meeting.

Current plans are in progress for the city arena include new bleachers and other improvements.

Expanded parking facilities are being provided by Gregg County under a county-city agreement. Gregg County could also aid in financing the installation of a cover.

"The one big thing missing from making the facility really useable for multiple events would be a cover," Primo said.
