Longview — As of 4:45 p.m., only about 100 customers are without power

Power has been restored to the Gregg County Courthouse.

The total number of outages has dropped to 1,000.

ORIGINAL STORY:SWEPCO officials tell KETK that Greg County is experiencing power outages.

Around 2,100 people are currently without electricity.

The outage was caused by an equipment failure at one of the substations. SWEPCO says an insulator burned out and locked three circuits.

Crews are expected to have power restored within a couple hours.

Until power returns, the Gregg County Courthouse is closed to the public.
