Gregg County — “This guy is a regionally minded judge,” said David Cleveland, executive director of a 14-county coalition set to honor Stoudt with its Regional Statesman Award. “Obviously, he’s focused on Gregg County, but he understands when the region wins, Gregg County wins.”

Cleveland and the East Texas Council of Governments will honor five people in its service region today at the First Baptist Church in Rusk.

It will be Stoudt’s second time to walk away with the regional statesman award, which he first received in 2009.
