‘Grounds for Justice’, a new coffee shop opening in Tyler; will sell fair trade coffee, tea, and other fair trade items all to help fund Refuge of Light missionary, an organization which helps victims of sex trafficking in East Texas.

“We've been praying for 3 years for a building to come available that we could afford,” said Norma Mullican, Refuge of Light Director. Those prayers were finally answered, "This coffee shop this is really where the other side shows through because so many people have donated their time here." Mullian said. Missy Zivney, Mullican’ s daughter and also the assistant director of Refuge of Light said, “ As you look around there are just so many items that have been donated by individuals, old church pues, old cabinets that have been re-purposed. We just see that as a parallel to the girls lives, that we'll be working with and we hope to re-purpose their lives to something more."

The store was named after a victim of sex-trafficking named, “Justice.” Now, every cup of 'fair trade' coffee sold will help more girls like her find safety. “All of the money will go toward rescuing more girls…building a safe home…and fund programs for the home.” Zivney said."It's more than just providing a bed for these girls, they have to have counseling they have to have the tools to heal and for their lives to be restored,” said Mullican.

Customers will not only leave with a caffeine fix, they will also leave with some knowledge. The store will have a resource lab equipped with computers, pamphlets, and books so people can learn about this very real problem in our area, "Our hope is that any individual that comes through the doors at ‘Grounds for Justice’ that they will not leave without knowing the issue of human sex trafficking."

Grounds for justice will be opening February 14th a perfect day to start their journey Mullican says, "Valentine’s day, that's the day that we show love, we demonstrate love to people, and that's a great way for us to get started because that's what this shops about its about love."
