Washington D.C.-- Otis McDonald challenged the 28-year old handgun ban in Chicago. He says he cannot defend himself against drug dealers and gang bangers. The Supreme Court made its decision on the case today.
Can law-abiding citizens buy and own a firearm no matter where they live in the U.S.?
Today, the Supreme Court says "yes."
The court decision was split when five conservatives supported gun rights, and four liberals opposed.
Two years ago, the Supreme Court had a similar ruling, but it only applied to federal laws. It struck down a ban in District of Columbia, but the handgun bans in Chicago and its suburb remained.
Now, the court says the second amendment is an individual right. As some would say, this is what our founding fathers intended in the first place.
Mack Woods, owner of "The Shootist" in Tyler, is not getting his hopes up. He says, "they just keep ratifying it over and over and people just keep coming back trying to tear it down."
The Vice President of the National Rifle Association says proof of the Court's decision will be when law-abiding citizens, one by one, start buying and owning firearms.

All a College education is, is compressed learning. What college educated people get crammed into their brains in 4 years, most intelligent people learn thru tempered real life experience in 10. They however have not been corrupted by the Socialist mantra which clouds and distorts the real lessons of life, and they don't have to use duct tape to keep their swollen heads from exploding.
Judging from these comments, education is our problem, because apparently these "over-educated" Supreme Court justices just don't know what they are doing. Yet the obviously under-educated folks who write in know just how everything from guns to deep-water oil spills should be handled. So we can solve all our problems by getting rid of anyone who is educated, right? Boy, it's so good finally knowing how to solve all America's ills.
Education isn't the problem,,it is WHO we are wasting money to educate. In God's plan for the body politic certain people are designed to be the brains to think, others arms to build, others eyes to see, others butt holes to clean up the mess. Too many butt holes are being overeducated in the name of equality beyond their original designs for cleanup and the social do do is backing up big time. Its time the Butt holes go back to doing what they were designed for and stop trying run things.

I do watch O'reily on occasion and CNN as well and the people will decide who the pinheads are come November. Sometime the truth IS mean spirited, but it's still the truth. What is really disturbing is that 4 of 9 Supreme Court Justices voted against something that is clearly written in our Constitution as a fundemental rightof the people. Can these so-called educated Judges not read or do they just want to play God with our lives? The Socialist communist could not prevail in the battle of ideas or the battlefield of war, so they corrode from within our values via takeover of our Courts and Schools.
What is really disturbing is that you have time to hang out and find any of this tripe disturbing. I mean, isn't there a bass to be caught or a deer to be slaughtered somewhere? C'mon, your nation of followers needs you to maintain the status quo. Attention K-mart shoppers!

As far as hate goes, are we not suppose to hate injustice, Human bondage either physical of spiritual, the taking of innocent human life etc? When fighting evil one sometimes has to temporarily take on the face of evil to defeat it. Hate sometimes unfortunately is part of the game. The enlightened man, when the battle is over puts aside the insanity and returns to their better angels.
