Gun-toting activists spread message in Longview
Longview, TX — With guns in hand and flags blowing in the wind about 18 people showed up to support the newly formed Gregg County chapter of the statewide group Open Carry Texas at the corner of Gilmer Road and Loop 281.
At its fourth gathering to exercise the right to bear arms, the group handed out flyers containing information on the group and answers to frequently asked questions about Texas gun laws.
“We are exercising our legs, freedoms, rights, and minds through conversation,” said organizer Anthony LaDuke. “A lot of people don’t understand that what we are doing is completely legal.”
According to the organization’s website, OCT is dedicated to the safe and legal carry of firearms openly in the state of Texas in accordance with the United States and Texas Constitutions and applicable laws.
