COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Texas A&M University has issued a lockdown on its main campus, warnings students of a suspected gunman on campus.

University spokesman Lane Stephenson says a campus bus driver was on his route around 4 p.m. Thursday when he reported seeing an individual carrying a weapon, possibly a rifle, near the student union.

The university's Web site says there is a "Code Maroon." It says students should remain indoors while police search the
buildings.
