Guns and the shutdown

The government, is shut down now, at least parts of it.
Once we all got over the mixed feelings watching Washington dysfunction, some began to wonder, will this affect me?
For example, can I buy a gun?
Yes, a lot of agencies are shut down for now.
But luckily for gun owners, or prospective gun owners, the FBI isn’t one of them.
We spoke with the FBI this morning, and they sent us the Department of Justice contingency plan, just in case Congress was confused enough to forget to fund the government.
That’s right, they are ready for this kind of political theater and the FBI in particular will be one of the agencies with a decent sized staff still reporting for work.
And according to the plan, they will be doing the instant background checks for gun purchases, just like normal.
So, don’t worry, you may not be able to go to Yosemite today, your local Federal Firearms licensee can still check up on you, and it should be business as usual.
How long this shutdown lasts is unknown.
But the FBI assured us they will help firearms retailers stay in business responsibly.

"just in case Congress was confused"
LOVE IT, that pretty much sums up the government since the beginning of the Obama reign.

Kuddo's to you "scared"...but take some comfort that those mindless clones who voted all the tea swillers into office are going to suffer the big hurt, too, should the shutdown continue for any measure of time. As for assault weapons and hand-held pistols, people are crabby that they may not be able to buy more? Let's hope these clowns get hungry, miss paychecks, need a policeperson or fireperson from a department that has to pare down, etc. What a sham from the tea swillers!! Disgraceful!!

Those 800000 people drag down the economy so much I bet more jobs will be created because they where shown the door than those lost.

Government does not 'create' anything. It does not make anything. It does not come up with 1/1000th of what private enterprise does. Even the founding fathers like Benjamen Franklin said that government is a parasite. Maybe a necessary one but still a parasite.

Let's see how well America works without all the red tape.

800000 people with no paycheck, complaining about a program that's helps poor people get health insurance, and your big concern is can you still buy a gun. Man, you guys at KETK scare me!

More like forces them to get healthcare or pay a hefty fine, and you call that help?
