TYLER — Tyler Police Report :

On December 25, 2011, at approximately 7:04 p.m. Officers of the Tyler Police Department were dispatched to the American Inn at 1800 West Erwin regarding shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a black male got into an altercation with a white female in the motel parking lot.

The black male produced a semi-automatic pistol and pointed it at the white female.

The female began to run away from the black male and heard a number of gunshots as she was running away.

The black male then left driving a black Honda Accord in an unknown direction.

No one was injured during the altercation.

The investigation into this incident continues at this time.

Police are investigating shots fired at the American Inn Motel in Tyler on Erwin Street in Tyler.

Officials confirm with KETK there were no injuries as a result of the gunshots.

Tyler Police say the gunshots were because of a possible drug deal gone bad.
