Halliburton shooting suspect transferred to Gregg County Jail
Kilgore — A former Halliburton employee accused of shooting windows Monday at the company’s Kilgore facility has surrendered to federal firearms agents, an arrest affidavit by a Kilgore police officer shows.
Chase Ray Alford, 30, was transferred Thursday from Athens to the Gregg County Jail where he remained under bonds totaling $30,000. The Frankston resident is charged with deadly conduct and aggravated assault on a security officer.
Alford is accused of forcing the security guard at Halliburton on FM 349 to allow him to drive onto company property. His arrest affidavit, released Thursday by Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Talyna Carlson, said Alford used a rifle in demanding entry and ordering the guard to surrender hand-held radios and destroy the guard shack phone.
