Hallsville ISD enrollment numbers eclipse Pine Tree

Propelled by nearly 10 straight years of growth, Hallsville ISD’s student enrollment has eclipsed Pine Tree ISD, according to snapshots of the districts’ populations.

It is the first time the rural district in Harrison County has been the second-largest to serve city of Longview students.

“Hallsville has for decades had a tradition of academic excellence,” Superintendent Jim Dunlap said. He added that many parents he had talked to said they moved to the 188-square-mile district to have their children in Hallsville schools.
