(CNN) — Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, was hospitalized in Nevada Friday following an accident in his motorcade, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Reid's caravan of four vehicles was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 when it was invovled in a crash with another civilian vehicle, according to the highway patrol's public information officer Loy Hixson.
Reid was transferred to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas by one of his caravan vehicles. The injuries did not appear to be life threatening, according to Hixson.
