TYLER, TEXAS (KETK) — Kiepersol Winery and Estates held their Annual Harvest Festival & Grape Stomp in Tyler.
The grapes are picked off the vine and they're ready to be stomped.
The festival kicked off on Saturday at 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Hundreds of East Texas visited the vineyard to enjoy grape stomping, wine tasting, fair food, wine tour and live music.
KETK spoke to owner and winemaker Pierre de Wet about the tradition, he tells us that festival is to give thanks to everyone who comes out, enjoys the wine and tours Kiepersol.
East Texans enjoyed a day on the lawn, drinking wine, eating, relaxing and listened to live-music.
Pierre de Wet tell us, Kiepersol Winery is the only winery in the state of Texas.
61 acres of vineyard makes red and white wine, and 15 varietals.
Kiepersol Winery is open: Tuesday - Saturday 11 am - 7 pm.
