EAST TEXAS — East Texans today will be celebrating America’s independence with cookouts, barbecues, boat parades and fireworks displays.

In Longview, the Freedom Celebration and Fireworks Festival will begin at 6 p.m. on the grounds of the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center, 100 Grand Blvd.
