Does The Recession Make People Cuss?
March 20, 2009 - 5:42pm
The recession may be bringing out the worst in people.
One Psychologist says, the economy is making people curse more.
LA resident Nancy Irwin says, swearing gives us a release.
She says, vulgar ranting is rising right along with stress levels.
But, what's true in California isn't always true in Texas.
People we spoke with say, they haven't noticed an increase.
"If people cuss, they cuss, but I don't think there's even more cussing because of it."
"I haven't noticed that, no not lately."
"It's in their nature and their vocabulary, and I don't think its increased at all, I mean, not around me."
"Seems reasonable, but I guess I fear that saying that kind of makes it sound like a good excuse to be... To me, cussing is sort of an impatient way to deal with frustrations."
Others we spoke with say, the economy might even be prompting more intelligent conversations.

The sign said "Keep Waco wacko." Was this in Waco?

11 months agoLooks like the inside of Bodacious BBQ in Green Acres Shopping Center...
but I've only been in there once...
They have lots of signs to make it have the atmosphere of a Hill Country BBQ house...

11 months agoYou know what I think?
I think the Recession makes fussy people fussier and they gripe about more things than the vast variety of things they did before...
new things like whether people cuss more than before...
jeez...
is there really NO news in East Texas to cover?
