Longview Tx (KETK) — The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service in Longview is hosting it's first ever healthy cooking school.
Dee Lee C. Smith with the Longview Extension tells KETK they hold these cooking classes all over the state.
But, it's the first time they are having it in Gregg County.
Smith said more than 100 people have already signed up.
People will learn how to make fast, easy, healthy dinners on the go.
Smith said the goal is to promote family mealtime and to teach families healthy meal planning and cooking techniques.
Attendees will receive a blank 56 page recipe book and 12 different menus.
"What we will be doing is a couple demonstrations, demonstrating meals that our busy families can use, we will be having some tables out there, they will be able to sample some of the dishes, they can also possibly be on the tasting panel," said Smith.
The cooking school is this Thursday, Nov. 7.
Doors open at 4:30 and the school goes until 8 p.m.
It will be at The Reserve
7725 Hwy 259, North Longview
