Heart disease reported cause of Gregg County inmate death

Gregg County Sheriff Maxey Cerliano announced, Tuesday, additional information regarding the investigation into the death of jail inmate, Debra Ingram Duffie, a 52, who died August 19, 2013.

Justice of the Peace #1, B.H. Jameson ordered an autopsy to be performed at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Marc A. Krouse, MD performed the autopsy on Duffie August 20, 2013.

The cause of death is listed as hypertensive and ischemic heart disease.

No foul play was found to contribute to Duffie's death.

Because the investigation is ongoing, the public and the news media will be informed as information becomes available and is released by Sheriff Cerliano, Texas Rangers, and the Gregg County District Attorney’s Office.
