SMITH COUNTY-- The Smith County Commissioner's Court voted this morning to charge a fee for permits for overweight vehicles that operate in the county.

County roads can only hold 30,000 pounds.  Anything over that weight limit could damage the roads.   Until now, companies could get a county permit for free, but now they may have to pay up to $100 for a permit to drive on county roads.
