Helping with Horses

Tuesday, August 6, 2013 - 9:59pm

A group of animal lovers and professional counselors are trying something new in East Texas.

They're using horses as therapy tools, to help children and adults deal with anger and other social issues.

The Brunson Equestrian Center at the Texas Rose Horse Park in Tyler is already taking in clients who want to be apart of this new program.

Organizers tell KETK, horses have a calming effect on people, and help them open up, helping them with the healing process, and they say, this is a service strongly needed in East Texas.

The group will hold an open house on August 17th, where people are welcome to come by the park and see exactly what this therapy and program is all about.
