Henderson City Council mulls permits for animal group

The Henderson City Council will continue to discuss requiring permits for the Animal Protection League’s mobile unit, after tabling a motion to do so at its Tuesday night meeting, Mayor Buzz Fullen said.

The city does not require the permits for the league, which provides low-cost rabies vaccinations and spaying and neutering services for the pets of local residents on a monthly basis. Dr. David Corley, a local veterinarian, asked the city to charge fees because of the negative economic effect the league’s services have on the practices of local veterinarians.
