The number of students in Henderson ISD with limited English has increased by almost 70 in the past three years, a district official told trustees Tuesday.

There are 446 students in Henderson ISD classified as Limited English Proficiency (LEP). That’s 13 percent of the district’s total enrollment, Bilingual Coordinator Cathy Hooper told the board.

In the 2011-12 school year, there were 380 LEP students, she said.

While the majority of these students speak Spanish as their primary language, Hooper cautioned that it’s important not to view Hispanic students and LEP students as different names for the same group of students.

No surprise, I would bet every school district has had an increase in illegals and its not going to stop until we get rid of a whole lot of Un- American politicians who prefer to take care of illegals instead of its own citizens. Our government is not for " We The People " anymore and has not been for a long time, and it gets worse every day. They are all crooks so replace them all before its too late.
