Henderson man arrested in Rusk County shooting
RUSK COUNTY — On Monday, May 16, 2011, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle and Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators responded to a call of a gunshot victim on County Road 462. The victim suffered gunshot wounds to the lower torso and was taken by helicopter to a local hospital for emergency surgery. The victim remains in the hospital and is currently in ICU.
Rusk County officials arrested 30-year-old Timothy Scarborough, of Henderson. The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Chad Dean. Scarborough was charged with aggravated assault, causing serious bodily injury, a second degree felony that carries up to twenty years in prison.
Scarborough’s bond is set at $20,000. The suspect is currently in the Rusk County Jail.
Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle stated if a person is involved in criminal activity, they will be pursued, arrested, and brought to justice.
