Henderson police chief to retire at end of month

Henderson Police Chief Ronnie Walker dismisses the idea of having a retirement party as July 31 draws near.

“I am not perfect by any means, and I’m dreading this day in a way,” he said.

Walker will close the chapter on a 40-year law enforcement career at the end of the month. Deputy Chief James Pierson will serve as Henderson’s interim police chief.

Walker said he hopes his son, Justin, and others will maintain his legacy.
