Henderson tax revenue up more than 25% in February

On Highway 79 in Henderson, land is being cleared out to build a new Shell Travel Station, and a Denny's, some of the first businesses that are moving into Henderson, taking advantage of up-tick in shopping in the community.

The vote for Henderson beer and wine sales was back in November, and on February first, people got their first chance to purchase alcohol within city limits.

And more and  more businesses in the area are applying for their alcohol license.

Weldon Gray, a member of Henderson First, the group that brought the alcohol propositions to the table, says that will only make the numbers better.

With the high price of gasoline Tyler needs to be able to sell beer and wine. It's unfair to pay the gas bill driving out of county.
