A large wild dog has been living in a wooded area behind a Henderson neighborhood.

The dog is believed to be part wolf and part malamute, that stands about waist high on an average person.

The dog has already killed a chicken and a cat, but there are residents in the are who say the creature is tame, and do not want to see the animal killed.

Henderson Animal Control authorities have place non-lethal baited traps in the area, hoping to capture the dog.

They say they want to take the animal alive, but more so they want to keep residents, and their pets safe.

The dog is believed to have gotten loose a few weeks ago, and has made his way into the city limits.

He escaped along with a female counterpart, who has since been killed.
