Lufkin — The Lufkin Daily News is reporting; after being closed to the public for two months due to safety concerns, the 4-C Hiking Trail in the Davy Crockett National Forest will reopen Thursday.
In March it became apparent that the large number of trees killed in the drought created a safety hazard, leading to the trail’s closure, according to Acting Forest Supervisor Stephanie Neal Johnson.
