Holiday shoppers spending more using smartphones

We find ourselves browsing online stores and downloading apps on our phones, and shopping is getting a little easier. People are using their Smartphones for holiday shopping.

Deloitte's survey reveals, shoppers whom are using their smartphones for holiday purchases are expected to spend more than $1,400. Smartphones are making it easy and convenient to shop for holiday gifts.

Using your Smartphone to shop, it makes it easier for shoppers by not having to drive to the store.

KETK spoke to CEO of OrderMapper Inc., Mobile Expert, about Smartphone shopping.

"Consumers are changing their behavior, this is the new way of shopping."

Bricker adds, "Mobile apps have really changed the way people purchase their gifts for the holiday season. We think that in the future everything will be purchased on a mobile device."

According to the survey, results also show that 50% of consumers own smartphones and 68% of them plan to use their devices for holiday shopping this year.

The survey reports, consumers are checking product prices, comparing, and saving money on product value, but shopping and spending more using their smartphone. And shoppers are expected to spend 72% percent more than shoppers who do not plan to use their phone.

Bricker tells KETK, Smartphone shopping is a trend and is not going away anytime soon.
