SMITH COUNTY-- A fire destroyed a house in the Chapel Hill area Thursday morning.  Officers responded to a call on County Road 285.  Fire investigators say the house was a loss.

They believe the fire started in a room upstairs, but the cause is still under investigation.  Chapel Hill fire department called in aid from Whitehouse and Arp.

No one was home when the fire started, but homeowners were contacted shortly after firefighters arrived.
