Longview, TX — Longview, tx — Gregg County residents were slammed by heavy winds and rain Thursday night, specifically the Longview Heights area.

Homes were damaged, trees blew over and power lines were knocked down in the eastern part of Longview near Mona Avenue.

Many houses in the area are with power, and it's unclear when electricity will be restored.

Homeowners tell KETK they had never seen winds intensify as quickly as they did in Thursday's storm. According to KETK's meteorologist, straight line winds hit the area hard around 9 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
