It's time to cast a line to reel in a big Bass, Lake Fork is nationally known for it's great Bass fishing. So tomorrow morning the tournament will showcase a very unique angle to the sport.

On Saturday, the 5th annual "Bass on the Fly" tournament at Lake Fork begins. KETK spoke with the President of Tyler Lonestar Fly Fishing, Mike Maris, who said, "You take pictures of your fish, measure them, and release them right after you catch them".  More than 50 teams have entered the contest.. Ted Warren, the organizer of the event, said, 'This is one of only two fly fishing tournaments for bass that I know of in the United States".

At the end of the day, the angler with the biggest Bass wins $600. Warren said, "The goals is to increase fly fishing for warm water species, Bass and Blue Gill". Maris competes every year. He said, "We're not professionals, we just enjoy fishing. And we enjoy fly fishing. This is a chance for us to do it locally for Bass". So Maris has some new strategies for bringing in the big Bass this year. Maris shared, "I'll use a popper, which is a top water lure, and we tie a little fly on it that imitates a dead shad".

Last year the winner of the tournament reeled a trophy group of Bass, totaling 100.5 inches.

If you would still like to sign up, head to Lake Fork before the  tournament begins from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. For more information click: .
