TYLER-Now that time for Christmas shopping is officially over, children all over East Texas are waiting on pins and needles to see if Santa was good to them this year.
For the past couple of weeks leading up to Christmas, we've heard the national news stories about what are the top toys for Christmas. But we wanted to know if this was the same for kids here in East Texas?
For shoppers at Broadway Square Mall Wednesday time was running out. The aisles were filled with parents scrambling to find those last minute gifts. While the parents were pressed for time, most of the children were there for one reason. To talk to Santa one last time to make sure he packed something special in his sack for them.
After speaking to several children and their parents, it looks like the most popular items on the wish lists would have to be gadgets. This includes everything from video games to laptops.
With all of these gadgets in high demand, stores like the Game X-Change in Tyler have stayed busy. "It's been crazy this year," Regional Manager for the Game X-Change, Mandy Greer, said. "Its been crazy, but a good crazy."
So what has been there top seller this year? "We had a lot of requests for the Wii," Greer said. "We also had a lot of requests for the handheld systems like the PSP, the DS and even the older ones like Gameboy Advanced were also top sellers."
