Get ready to change your light bulbs to those curly new C-F-L's that are on the market now.

The House failed tonight to stop the enactment of the new energy saving standards for all light bulbs.

The bill to overturn the standards fell short of the two-thirds majority needed for passage with a vote of 233-to-193.

The new standards are set to go into effect next year but some see it as big government going too far to interfere in people's lives.

The government has bigger issues right now than to worry about what kind of light bulb people are using in their homes. Why don't they worry more about the OTHER money they're spending needlessly?

The Republicans were for this in 2007 when GW Bush signed the bill. Why are they against it now? Posturing?
